Account Manager – Affordable Housing

Our client is seeking an Account Manager – Affordable Housing to join their team.The Account Manager will report directly to the VP of Client Energy Services and will leverage the company’s exemplary reputation and brand to build pipeline within the Affordable Housing sector in the NYC Metro Area. The position comes with a strong portfolio of existing clients and will require a mixture of deepening relationships with existing clients, while hunting for new business. Typical services sold in this sector are on-site generation, green building certification, commissioning, energy analysis through Energy Score Cards and energy procurement. They are looking for a self-starting, enthusiastic winner to join their fast-growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and manage an existing portfolio of clients, becoming the client’s trusted energy management adviser
  • Prospect, qualify and on board new clients within the real estate sector
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s energy infrastructure and existing energy management practices
  • Develop energy and water management action plans for clients’ portfolios and properties through company approach
  • Work cross-functionally to seek expertise and configure optimal solutions for each client’s portfolio of properties via proprietary utility bill analytics tools and in consultation with the energy engineering division
  • Consultatively identify opportunities to develop energy/water efficiency, on-site generation and power resiliency projects
  • Prepare proposals and present the value proposition for each service and stage of project development, virtually and in-person
  • Learn and understand Federal/State and Utility policies and programs impacting an energy management strategy for a client, with the ability to apply project financing, where available
  • Participate in industry events to represent the company and build presence in the market
  • Monitor, measure and track progress of opportunities in Salesforce.com, and provide weekly reporting to management
  • Undertake other projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, energy or real estate
  • Creativity in locating new clients and sources of revenue
  • A proven track record of closing sales
  • Experience in working with government/utility energy incentive programs
  • Construction or building management experience
  • A history of participation in professional industry associations
